Essent Group Ltd. Announces David Benson and April Galda Joyce Have Joined Board of Directors

Essent Group Ltd. (NYSE: ESNT) announced today that David Benson and April Galda Joyce have joined its Board of Directors.

David Benson has over 30 years of experience in mortgage credit, finance, and capital markets. From 2002 to 2024, Mr. Benson held roles at Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae), the largest U.S. mortgage credit provider, including serving as president from 2018 to 2024 and interim CEO in 2022. His responsibilities spanned business units and corporate functions including finance, IT, and strategy, as well as human resources and communications. Prior to Fannie Mae, he was employed at Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. in risk management, trading, and e-commerce. Mr. Benson holds a BS in Psychobiology from the University of California, Los Angeles, an MBA from Stanford University, and an MD from Harvard Medical School.

April Galda Joyce brings over 25 years of experience in insurance and financial services, with roles in the U.S., London, and Bermuda. From 2021 to 2023, Ms. Joyce served as CEO of Beat Capital Partners Americas, where she launched the U.S. platform and partnerships. Previously, April held senior roles at Global Atlantic Financial Group, including managing director and chief culture officer. She began her career in 1999 at Goldman Sachs in New York. Ms. Joyce holds a BS in management from Case Western Reserve University.
