EDITORIAL: A resource for answers to health care questions
Yakima Herald-Republic (WA)
Oct. 24--In addition to being a political issue, health care also carries many personal consequences. The complication of health care policy spills over into the many decisions that people have to make for themselves and their loved ones.
The questions are many: Where can I find a doctor? How often should I get a check-up? How can a patient help a doctor deliver better care? How can a doctor deliver better care to a patient? When should I get a second opinion? Do I need to go the Seattle for care? What do I need to know about insurance? What if I can't afford to pay?
These questions and more were addressed in 10-page special section, "Navigating Yakima Valley health care," that appeared in Sunday's print edition of the Yakima Herald-Republic. It is one of four premium sections that the newspaper publishes four times a year; previous topics have been "Made in Yakima Valley" and "Our Pets, Our Lives."
"Navigating Yakima Valley health care" is the sort of special section that is worth saving for reference -- and especially for a time when one needs to make a critical health care decision. Subscribers who wish to see it online may go to yakimaherald.com/extra. Those who are not subscribers may sign up for a print and/or digital subscription at yakimaherald.com or call 509-577-7755.
