Democratic Governors Association Get It Done: Gov. Gretchen Whitmer Delivers Massive Savings for Michiganders With $400 Auto Insurance Refund Checks

WASHINGTON, Dec. 9 -- The Democratic Governors Association issued the following news:

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced yesterday that Michigan drivers will receive a $400 check for every car they own as a result of her historic bipartisan insurance reform bill that addresses high costs.

"These refunds and the recently announced statewide average rate reductions are lowering costs for every Michigan driver," Gov. Whitmer said.

Now that the reforms, which have been heralded as a "financial boon" for drivers, are leading to direct savings, the state is flooded with positive press about how Gov. Whitmer is delivering for Michiganders:

* Associated Press: "Michigan drivers will get $400 insurance refund per vehicle."

* WDIV Local 4 in Detroit: "Whitmer requested the refunds earlier this year, she called for a $5 billion surplus reported by the MCCA to be refunded to insured drivers as soon as possible."
