INSURANCE FRAUD CASE: Valley County Sheriff Casey Hurlburt has agreed to surrender his law enforcement license as part of a plea agreement for committing insurance fraud. According to a plea agreement filed by the Nebraska Attorney General's Office on Tuesday, March 19 in Valley County District Court, Hurlburt will surrender his license in exchange for no additional charges being filed. Hurlburt agreed to plead no contest to providing false information in an insurance claim after a vehicle crash. The Nebraska State Patrol arrested Hurlburt in October on suspicion of fraudulent insurance acts.
