Damage from three-alarm fire in Frederick in excess of $1 million
Frederick News-Post (MD)
Jun. 18--An electrical failure caused a three-alarm fire that destroyed seven town houses in Frederick earlier this month, according to a news release.
The fire displaced 12 adults and five children. Multiple insurance adjusters are determining the total loss for those people, but initial estimates indicate the overall damage is valued at more than $1 million, according to the news release.
That failure happened "in the void space between the false roof on the face of the building and the second floor wall of the corner townhouse," according to the release. About 75 firefighters countywide were dispatched to the fire at 537 Carrollton Drive just before 9 a.m. on June 7.
