Clinical Research Collaboration Between Premier, Inc.'s PINC AI™ Applied Sciences and McLaren Health Care Aims to Advance Patient Outcomes

U.S. Markets (Alternative Disclosure) via PUBT

Charlotte, N.C., March 6, 2024 - Premier, Inc.'s PINC AI™ Applied Sciences (PAS) team announced a data and research collaboration with McLaren Health Care focused on improving health outcomes and the delivery of medical care.

The partnership combines PAS' expertise in convening experts to advise research development, providing robust research and analytics capabilities, and scaling a national network of health systems to develop insights with McLaren's commitment to improve population health - paving the way for innovative research and rapid advancements in patient outcomes.

The collaboration, with a keen focus on McLaren's priorities of advancing research and clinical care medicine, demonstrates a commitment to driving impactful change at the intersection of data analytics, expertise and community needs. To date, McLaren and PAS have done exemplary work together focused on population health, chronic conditions and critical care.

"Leveraging PAS' cutting-edge data analytics and technology, collaborations like this one allow for interdisciplinary analyses to uncover nuanced insights into healthcare delivery," said Denise Juliano, Group Vice President, PINC AI™ Applied Sciences. "By combining clinical data with social determinants of health, our research aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the factors contributing to disparities in these critical areas. Marrying PAS' award-winning approach to research and discovery with McLaren's commitment to quality, evidence-based patient care, we can accelerate our goal of rapidly moving the needle on expanding our research and our clinical trial portfolios together."

"Despite years of scholarship highlighting poor outcomes and disparities in care, few organizations have developed real-world solutions for improvement," said Chandan Gupte, Vice President of Clinical Excellence and Research, McLaren Health Care. "The PAS team's ability to bring robust real-world data to the table to drive research is a game changer. We're thrilled to work with PAS to improve patient-centered care in the U.S."

This collaboration represents a powerful synergy between expertise and community needs, with a dedicated focus on enhanced clinical outcomes. PAS and McLaren are poised to make significant strides in mitigating health disparities in Michigan through innovative research, expert guidance and community-driven solutions.

The PAS-McLaren strategic collaboration will focus on:

  • Expert-led thought leadership - convening experts from McLaren Health Care to advise, refine research study protocols and identify potential solutions based on the needs of McLaren and the communities and patients they serve.
  • Outcomes-focused, innovative research with targeted interventions reflecting a commitment to address critical healthcare issues that directly impact the well-being of residents of Michigan and ensure that the insights can be prototyped and scaled across healthcare nationally.
  • Community-driven solutions that place an emphasis on community engagement as a fundamental pillar of effective research. By actively involving local communities in the research process, the collaboration aims to ensure that solutions are not only informed by data, but also reflect the lived experiences and priorities of the people directly affected by health disparities.

"McLaren's relationship with Premier began three years ago," said Pamela Wills-Mertz, Director of Corporate Research Administration and HRPP, McLaren Health Care. "This new strategic collaboration will accelerate and amplify the positive impact we're making to improve the health of the communities we serve - and together with Premier and the PAS team, we look forward to advancing health equity and care quality."
