Clean Water Action Endorses Gary Peters for US Senate

LANSING, Michigan, Feb. 11 -- Clean Water Action issued the following news release:

Clean Water Action announced its endorsement of Gary Peters for the United States Senate.

"From increasing funding for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative to standing up against the Trump administration's dirty water agenda, and making Enbridge Energy officials publicly answer for their inability to protect the Great Lakes from a Line 5 oil spill, Gary Peters has been a true fighter for the waters that define our state," said Mary Brady-Enerson, Clean Water Action Michigan Director.

"We know that Senator Peters will continue to stand up to corporate polluters and advocate for our water in Michigan during his next term," concluded Brady-Enerson.

Throughout his career as an elected official, Senator Peters has been a leader on environmental issues. He has consistently supported strong policies to promote renewable energy and address climate change and continues to be a champion for Michigan families facing PFAS contaminated drinking water. In his last term, Senator Peters was instrumental in getting both the US Coast Guard and Enbridge Energy on the record highlighting their inability to effectively respond to a Line 5 oil spill.
