The City of Corunna Planning & Zoning Department under the direction of Merilee Lawson, and the Charter Township of Caledonia Planning & Zoning Department under the direction of Rowe Engineering, in accordance with National Flood Insurance Program regulation 65.7(b)(1), hereby gives notice of the City's and Township's intent to revise the flood hazard information, generally located between North Shiawassee Street in the City of Corunna and the eastern border of the City, including the area along Walnut Street that is within the Charter Township of Caledonia.
Specifically, the flood hazard information will be revised along the Shiawassee River from a point upstream of the Shiawassee Street Bridge in the City of Corunna to the City of Corunna eastern boundary, and including the area north of the Shiawassee River along Walnut Street that is within the Charter Township of Caledonia. As a result of the revision, the floodway will widen and narrow, the 1-percent annual-chance water-surface elevations will increase and decrease, and the 1-percent-annual-chance floodplain will widen and narrow within the area of revision. Maps and detailed analysis of the revision can be reviewed at the Corunna City Hall, 402 N. Shiawassee Street, Corunna, MI 48817.
