Cigna Healthcare launches Clearity, a new copay-only health plan

Bloomfield, Conn. — Nov. 18, 2025 — Cigna Healthcare, the health benefits division of The Cigna Group, announced the launch of Clearity by Cigna Healthcare, a copay-only health plan designed to bring greater transparency, predictability and simplicity to the care experience. Leveraging Cigna Healthcare’s new industry-leading AI-powered digital tools, the Clearity plan empowers customers to make confident, informed healthcare decisions with upfront pricing, verified patient reviews, and a user-friendly digital experience designed for simplicity and trust.

Health care simplicity and predictability

With a tiered copay model that eliminates deductibles and coinsurance, Clearity by Cigna Healthcare simplifies the healthcare experience across a wide range of services – from office visits and labs to imaging, physical therapy, and surgical procedures.

Employers can choose from five plan design packages to support various cost-share strategies without narrowing networks or access to care. Each package includes up to four in-network tiers and one out-of-network tier, and all are supported by capabilities such as patient reviews and provider insights – allowing users to surface the information that makes choosing care simpler and more transparent.

Easy to navigate, AI-powered guidance for customers

Recent research conducted by Cigna Healthcare reveals that a significant portion of consumers feel overwhelmed by benefits information, struggle to determine costs prior to receiving care and may delay getting necessary treatment due to financial uncertainty.

The Clearity plan – featuring Cigna Healthcare’s new AI-powered digital tools – is designed to improve the customer experience during common health insurance interactions, including checking benefits coverage, estimating costs and finding care.

Cigna Healthcare’s AI-Powered Virtual Assistant is an industry-first generative AI tool that provides clear, conversational and personalized answers to common questions about benefits coverage, claims and care options. Since its launch, the majority of customers with access to the virtual assistant are using it proactively and have found it helpful in finding a provider who fits their needs, understanding their benefits, and diving deeper into their claims.

Customers can also search for providers and services, view total out-of-pocket costs and obtain other information. Using natural language processing, the ”find care” tool searches and filters in multiple ways to display transparent copay pricing. Built on the Cigna Healthcare Open Access Plus (OAP) network, Clearity by Cigna Healthcare allows for maximum access to trusted clinicians and continuity of provider-patient relationships when transitioning enrollment from a traditional plan.
