CFO and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis Activates Emergency Insurance Village in Marianna

TALLAHASSEE, Florida, Oct. 22 -- The Florida Department of Financial Services issued the following news release:

Following Hurricane Michael's devastation to areas in Florida, Chief Financial Officer and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis will deploy an emergency insurance village in Marianna. At least 15 insurance companies will be on hand to assist residents with the insurance claims process.

CFO Jimmy Patronis said, "The devastation in the Florida Panhandle from Hurricane Michael is real and it wasn't just the coastal communities that were impacted. These insurance villages will bring together valuable resources to help communities in Jackson County start the insurance claims process and begin on the road to recovery."

Residents should bring as much documentation as they can, including:

- A driver's license or other form of identification. (Passport/State issued ID

- Insurance cards and insurance policy information/documentation

- Pictures or documentation of the property being claimed as a loss resulting from Hurricane Michael.

- Any additional insurance-related information that is readily accessible.
