The following defendant saw the charges against him held for court at Wednesday's Central Court:

William E. Hanson, 59, of Greensburg, was charged with DUI, trespassing and disorderly conduct on Nov. 8. A DCNR ranger was on patrol in Shawnee State Park Campground on Oct. 13 around 9:30 when he reportedly observed a bottle of rum on a picnic table. The smell of marijuana was also reportedly noticed in the area. The ranger said Hanson arrived at the scene driving a vehicle and admitted to smoking a joint. Hanson reportedly denied consent to field sobriety tests. Blood tests reportedly returned positive results for Delta-9. Hanson was reportedly informed he was evicted from the campground and must leave by 10 a.m. on Oct. 14. The ranger reportedly observed Hanson at the campground "in no hurry" to leave around 10:15 to 10:45. The ranger said he spoke with Hanson around 10:45 a.m., and he reportedly said he would leave when he was ready. Bail was set at $10,000 unsecured.

The following defendants waived their right to a preliminary hearing:

Anthony W. Mabe, 41, of Clearville, was charged with two counts of DUI and three summary traffic offenses on Nov. 2. State police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by Mabe along State Route 26 in West Providence Township on Oct. 22 around 1 a.m. Police said Mabe's speech was thick and slurred. Signs of impairment were reportedly observed during field sobriety tests. A blood test returned a BAC of 0.118%, according to the police. Bail was set at $10,000 unsecured.

Chandra L. Sell, 20, of Schellsburg, was charged with two counts of DUI and three counts of summary offenses on Oct. 17. State police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by Sell along the 6600 block of the Lincoln Highway in Bedford Township on Sept. 2 around 1:20 a.m. Police said Sell had bloodshot eyes with dilated pupils, and the odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected emanating from Sell's breath. A blood test reportedly returned a BAC of 0.103% and positive results for marijuana. Bail was set at $5,000 unsecured.

John T. Black III, 45, of Bedford, was charged with two counts of DUI and a summary traffic offense on March 16. State police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by Black along state Route 30 near its intersection with Sunny Slope Road in Snake Spring Township on Nov. 3 around 10 p.m. The police said the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanated from inside the vehicle. Police said Black's eyes were extremely glassy and bloodshot. Signs of impairment were reportedly observed during field sobriety tests. A blood test returned a BAC of 0.179%, according to the police. Bail was set at $5,000 unsecured.

Joshua L. Colledge, 40, of Everett, was charged with a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of DUI and three summary traffic offenses on Nov. 2. State police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by Colledge at State Street and Williams Street in West Providence Township on Sept. 27 around 5 p.m. Police said the odor of marijuana was detected emanating from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle reportedly returned a container of marijuana, a THC vape pen and a THC brownie. A blood test reportedly returned positive results for marijuana. Bail was set at $5,000 unsecured.

Ronald E. Valentine, 40, of Everett, was charged with two counts of insurance fraud and criminal attempt theft by deception on Dec. 12. A special agent from the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General Insurance Fraud Section received a report of possible insurance fraud from an insurance company. The insurance company had denied a claim from a woman who was dating Valentine at the time. She alleged her vehicle struck Valentine's residence and caused damage to the vehicle and the house in January 2022. Valentine had reportedly been pulled over and placed in jail in a different vehicle, as his girlfriend's was not working. Valentine reportedly filed an insurance claim with his insurance company for the alleged damage to his residence. A witness told police that Valentine's girlfriend was borrowing her vehicle, as hers was inoperable. The agent said records from the jail indicated the woman told Valentine the plan and that he had agreed. During an interview, Valentine reportedly told police the girlfriend's vehicle was inoperable at the time of the claim and acknowledged giving false information to the insurance company. He reportedly admitted there had been no damage done to his residence. Bail was set at $50,000 unsecured.

Shawn S. Miller, 53, of Claysburg, was charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property on Dec. 12. The state police received the report that Miller had failed to report several recycling material drops to his place of employment. Miller worked for a scrapyard in Bedford Township, where he was to pick up recyclables from several area businesses, take them to a scrapyard in Cumberland, MD, and return with cash to his place of employment. One of the businesses reported that Miller showed up unscheduled, and the company requested receipts from the scrap yard in Maryland. The receipts reportedly showed that Miller had, through a six-month span, not turned in $24,197 in cash to the company. Miller reportedly confessed to the police. Bail was set at 10% of $30,000 and has been posted.

Wyatt M. Maxwell, 22, of New Buena Vista, was charged with two counts of DUI and four counts of summary traffic offenses on Nov. 6. State police responded to a crash along Boozer Road in Juniata Township on June 24 around 2:15 a.m., where the vehicle was no longer present. Police said there were scrapes on the road leading to a Buena Road residence consistent with marks from the crash scene. Maxwell reportedly indicated he was the operator of the vehicle in the crash. Police said Maxwell had bloodshot eyes, glassy eyes, and slurred speech. A blood test returned a BAC of 0.115%, according to the police. Bail was set at $5,000 unsecured.

The following defendant had charges withdrawn:

Kenneth S. Welch Jr., 32, of Bedford, had charges of simple assault and harassment stemming from an Aug. 24 incident withdrawn.
