COLBY, Kan., Sept. 8 -- Colby Community College issued the following news release:
For the second year in a row, personal finance website WalletHub ranked Colby Community College in the top 10 percent of the nation's public community colleges.
The report, 2017's Best and Worst Community Colleges, looked at three key dimensions including cost/financing, education outcomes, and career outcomes. Colby ranked No. 55 out of 728 colleges in the study and second highest in the state.
Other Kansas community colleges in the top 100 are Pratt (16), Dodge City (72), Fort Scott (87), Coffeyville (93) and Hutchinson (95). Overall, the Kansas community college system ranked eighteenth.
"It is always great to see recognition of our students' and employees' accomplishments on a national level," said CCC President Seth Carter. "For me, these types of accolades further reinforce that we are doing a good job of serving our students, but it also allows us to realize we still have room for improvement."
Colby has a history of providing a strong return on student investment and has been recognized by other independent organizations such as SmartAsset and the Aspen Institute.
