Carolina Insurance Group – here to help with all your health insurance needs

Sponsored Content: [email protected]The Horry Independent

Carolina Insurance Group offers tailored personal and business insurance policies that provide clients the best protection.

Becky Watts, who was born and raised in Myrtle Beach, earned her business accounting degree from University of Phoenix. Watts began working at Carolina Insurance Group in 2008 after deciding to go back to work following being a stay at home mom to her three children. She is an independent life and health insurance agent at Carolina Insurance Group.

Today, there are six licensed agents ready to help clients with all their insurance needs.

"Our agency offers group and individual solutions," Watts said.

Plans and coverages include health insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, disability, retirement plans, Medicare Supplement plans, Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare Prescription Drug plans.

Now more than ever it's important to be educated about insurance policies and coverages.

"There are some big upcoming changes to Medicare prescription drug coverage. It's important for people to know and understand the changes coming," she said.

Using a local agent is important for many reasons, especially with Medicare.

"I think it's very important to use an agent," Watts said.

Many people are being affected by call centers who trick people into providing their personal information over the phone. Call centers will call people and change their coverage plans without the person knowing it, she said.

Watts advises people on Medicare not to speak to these call centers or anyone fraudulent that calls in regards to their Medicare coverage unless they are the ones that reached out and initiated conversation with an agent.

Anyone contacting someone about their Medicare coverage must have that person's written or verbal recording with permission to contact.

"It's important people know that to protect themselves," she said.

If someone is on Medicare, they must provide permission to contact or sign a scope of permission form, she said.

"We aim to educate and have our clients' best interest at heart," Watts said. "And that we're here to help them understand insurance so they can pick the best options for their needs."

Clients can benefit from having a local insurance agent in many ways. Local agents know their communities and can help service their clients better because of it.

"A local agent is going to know more about your community. We can make good referrals to other health care providers or other resources in general," she said.

Watts encourages clients to set up meetings with her to go over their insurance options.

Carolina Insurance Group conveniently offers in-person, over the phone and virtual appointments.

The busy time for the insurance industry is Oct. 1 through Jan. 15. The earlier clients meet with Watts for their insurance needs, the better. Watts is licensed in North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida and looks forward to hearing from you.

Anyone interested in learning more about different insurance options or coverages can contact Watts at [email protected] or can call 843-946-9915. Carolina Insurance Group is located at 2511 N. Oak Street in Myrtle Beach.
