April 04--A tie stall barn and farm equipment were lost to fire after an incident that occurred on early Saturday morning, according to a report from the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office.
Just after 6 a.m., the call came in to dispatchers of a large barn on fire, east of New York Mills. Rushing to the scene, first responders noted that the building was already fully engulfed in flames by the time they arrived.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the matter, but a tractor and two round balers parked in a lean-to alongside the structure are believed to have been destroyed by the heat. Investigators explained that a space heater and stock tank heater were in use nearby, but a cause has yet to be determined for the fire. Meanwhile, the building was declared a total loss.
