BRIEF: Three Grovetown mobile homes destroyed by fire ruled arson

July 25--A fire that destroyed three mobile homes in Columbia County on Tuesday has been ruled as arson by the Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner office.

Ralph Hudgens, insurance and safety fire commissioner, is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the arsonist.

The fire, which started around 3:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of Lakeside Drive in Grovetown, originated in one of the unoccupied homes before spreading to the other two, Hudgens said in the release.

Anyone with information can call 1-800-282-5804 at any time. Callers can remain anonymous.

The Columbia County Fire Department is assisting with the investigation.
