BRIEF: Thompson kicks off healthcare town hall series in Vallejo on Friday

Feb. 09--With Republicans promising to repeal and replace Obamacare, Rep. Mike Thompson is hosting in Vallejo the first in a series of Healthcare Town Halls to help address constituents' concerns, his office announced.
The event is planned from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at Vallejo'sFlorence Douglas Senior Center, 333 Amador Drive.
"Since Republicans took control of the White House and both chambers of Congress, they have doubled down on their promises to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Hundreds of constituents across the district have contacted Rep. Thompson with concerns and questions," according to a news release. "Now Rep. Thompson is kicking off a series of Healthcare Town Halls to give our community the opportunity to share their thoughts and get the facts." Friday's Vallejo event will be the first of four planned across the district, and will feature a panel of industry experts and constituent advocates, it said.
Joining Thompson are State Sen. Bill Dodd, La Clinica de la Reza CEO Jane Garcia, AARP Associate State Director For Community Affairs, Julie Bates and lung cancer survivor, Francis Spruit.
