BRIEF: Teen flown to hospital after wreck in eastern El Paso County

Sept. 28--A teenager was flown by helicopter to a Colorado Springs hospital after he was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in eastern El Paso County Wednesday morning, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The crash was reported about 6:15 a.m. in the 300 block of Edison Road, just off state Highway 94 between Yoder and Rush, said Trooper Josh Lewis, a State Patrol spokesman.

The injured driver, a 17-year-old boy, was cited for careless driving and no proof of insurance, Lewis said.

Authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
