BRIEF: Reminder: Obamacare open enrollment ends Tuesday

Jan. 29--The deadline to enroll for Marketplace health insurance covered through the Affordable Care Act is Tuesday.

Signing up by the deadline ensures coverage by March of 2017 for the remainer of the year, and can be done at healthcare.gov.

The Obama administration said 11.5 million people had signed up for 2017 coverage by the end of December, up almost 300,000 from the previous year. More than 20 million people have received coverage since the law was passed in 2010, and the Associated Press reported the nation's uninsured rate is at a historic low of about 9 percent.

President Donald Trump and Republican leaders have vowed to repeal it, but lawmakers have yet to reach an agreement on a replacement -- let alone reveal one. Politico first reported -- and other news outlets confirmed -- the Trump administration pulled back advertising to promote enrollment.
