BRIEF: Reinsurance Group CEO earns $10.4 million in final year
St. Louis Post-Dispatch (MO)
April 13--A. Greig Woodring earned $10.4 million in his last year as chief executive at Reinsurance Group of America, the company discloses in a proxy statement filed Wednesday.
That represents an 11 percent increase over the $9.4 million Woodring made in 2015. His 2016 pay included a $1.23 million salary, $2.6 million bonus, $3.98 million in stock, $1.7 million worth of options and an $807,864 increase in pension value.
The bonus plan paid out at 183 percent of its target amount. The stock is tied to the company's performance between 2016 and 2018; a similar award for 2013-2015 wound up being worth just 40 percent of its original value.
Woodring retired Dec. 31 and was succeeded by Anna Manning. Her total compensation as president was $4.7 million last year, and her base salary for this year has been raised 27 percent to $950,000.
The Chesterfield-based reinsurance company saw earnings per share grow 45 percent last year, and its share price climbed 47 percent.
