BRIEF: Pickup crashes into 6 vehicles; driver arrested in Madison County

April 22--A Russell County man was arrested Thursday after his pickup truck collided with six vehicles on Ky. 52 in Madison County, Kentucky State Police said.
Dustin M. Brockman, 28, of Russell Springs, was charged with two counts of first-degree assault, seven counts of wanton endangerment, driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to produce an insurance card, state police said.
The crash occurred about 5:20 p.m., and the road was closed for investigation until just after 8:30 p.m., state police said.
Brockman's pickup and the vehicles it collided with were all traveling east, state police said. People were injured in two of the vehicles Brockman's truck struck, police said.
Brenda Smith, 56, and Garland Johnson, 61, both of Irvine, were taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening, state police said.
