BRIEF: NEW: Court orders liquidation of WINhealth Partners
Wyoming Tribune-Eagle (Cheyenne, WY)
Jan. 14--CHEYENNE -- Laramie County District Judge Thomas Campbell signed an order Tuesday to liquidate WINhealth Partners.
He determined that the health insurance company was insolvent.
Campbell ordered Wyoming Insurance Commissioner Tom Glause to deal with the company's property and business.
Glause will take possession of any WINhealth property, assets and books to liquidate the property.
The Cheyenne-based company had insured thousands of people in Wyoming, including employees at the City of Cheyenne and Laramie County government.
WINhealth was one of two health insurance companies in Wyoming that sold insurance through the federal exchange. The exchange is part of the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.
