BRIEF: Lawsuit claims bus company connected to woman’s death lied

Jan. 12--A Jan. 5 lawsuit filed by Manufacturers Alliance Insurance Company against B&B Transportation claims that the bus company lied to Manufacturers to obtain and keep their insurance, according to KXAN.com.

One of the buses owned by B&B is tied to the Oct. 30, 2016, death of Burleson resident Jordin Taylor, 20, who at the time was a student at Texas State University. Taylor's body was discovered under bus 2277 that day at Cool River Ranch, about 5 miles from downtown San Marcos.

Manufacturers claim that B&B, among other things, denied that they operate party buses when applying for insurance, denied ownership in other public transportation companies despite the fact the B&B's Manager Brandon Burleson owns and operates Skyline Party Bus and San Marcos Tours, and misled an insurance inspector to inspect another bus.

Manufacturers, in their lawsuit, claim they would not have issued a policy to B&B had they known those and other facts about the company.

Taylor's father, Freddie Taylor, filed a wrongful death and gross negligence suit in April against B&B and several TSU fraternities and sororities.
