June 28--CLE ELUM, Wash. -- Two people from Seattle were injured this morning on Interstate 90 after troopers say the driver fell asleep and rolled the vehicle, which came to rest in some trees, according to a news release.
Moises Zorilla Santos, 21, was taken to Harborview Medical Center after the approximately 8 a.m. accident in his 1989 Chevy pickup. A nursing supervisor there said he is under evaluation in the emergency room and in "stable" condition.
Daniel Santos, 16, was taken to KVH hospital in Ellensburg, according to the news release. A spokesperson there said he is being treated for minor injuries.
The accident occurred about 7 miles west of Cle Elum.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were involved and both were wearing seat belts.
Troopers said Santos was westbound when he left the highway to the left, overcorrected and rolled to a rest. The truck stopped on its top in the trees.
Troopers said the driver did not have a valid license and lacked insurance. Charges are pending.
