BRIEF: Free legal consults to be offered to senior citizens
Buffalo News (NY)
June 13--Lawyers will offer free, 15-minute legal consultations for senior citizens in Erie County as part of this year's annual Elder Law Day.
The sessions will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., June 22 in the Adams Mark Hotel in Buffalo. Seniors may also attend presentations on a variety of other topics and make appointments to discuss health options.
Legal topics can include Medicaid planning, estates, trusts, wills, housing, nursing home rights, veteran benefits, health insurance and others. Free parking is available in the Adams Mark parking ramp.
The event, sponsored by the Erie County Department of Senior Services and Center for Elder Law & Justice, will also offer free appointments with a health insurance counselor who can provide up-to-date information on Medicare and related supplemental plans and and long-term care insurance.
A case manager can discuss other programs and services to assist seniors who want to continue living independently. For more information, call 858-7532.
