BRIEF: Firefighter launches GoFundMe for Midland victims
Beaver County Times (PA)
July 30--MIDLAND -- A borough firefighter is trying to raise money for three families who recently lost their homes in a fire.
Michael Caler said he was among many firefighters at the scene July 14 when three Midland Avenue homes burned. He recently started a GoFundMe page to raise money for those families, which included six adults and a child.
"Midland's like a town that's kind of going downhill," said Caler, who has worked in the borough for the past year but has been a firefighter for more than 25 years.
"I'm just trying to help people out down there. I've struggled a lot in my life, and to see something happen up front and up close, I wanted to see if I could help them out," he added.
According to Caler, none of the families had insurance.
