BRIEF: CareSource hires seasoned health care lobbyist

Oct. 17--A health care executive with an extensive lobbying background, including as CEO of a Medicaid plan trade group, will lead CareSource's regulatory and government affairs efforts.
The Dayton-based insurance company, which manages Medicaid, Medicare and individual plans, announced Jeff Myers as executive vice president of strategic and external relations.
Myers will focus on strategy and business development, as well as lead CareSource's regulatory and government affairs.
Myers most recently was president and CEO at Medicaid Health Plans of America, a national Medicaid health plan trade group. He has also held different government affairs roles in the pharmaceutical and nursing home industries, including the American Health Care Association, which represents nursing homes and other long term care businesses.
Erhardt Preitauer, president and CEO of CareSource, stated Myers "has had a stellar career in Washington, D.C. and brings a broad background in strategic governmental relations in addition to a demonstrated passion for advocating for the needs of our members."
