BRIEF: 36 felony counts filed in alleged insurance fraud

Aug. 23--A Graton woman is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Sutter County Superior Court on 36 felony counts of insurance fraud, according to court records.
A criminal complaint was filed this week against Melissa A. Carson.
Carson is charged with 18 felony counts of worker's compensation fraud and 18 counts of presenting a false statement regarding an insurance claim.
The offenses allegedly occurred in 2014 and 2015, according to the complaint.
There was no information about how much money was involved.
District Attorney Amanda Hopper did not respond to an emailed request for more information.
