Brett Drexelius Joins Medata as Executive Vice President

Business Wire

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Medata, the leading medical cost containment technology company in workers’ compensation and auto liability lines, has selected Brett J. Drexelius as Executive Vice President of Growth. Accelerating top-line growth and assisting in the development of Medata’s national sales processes and methodologies are among his responsibilities. He will also oversee the sales leaders of the company’s product lines, which include bill review, utilization review, document management, and business intelligence and fee negotiations.

“Brett brings deep expertise in healthcare cost management and workers’ compensation to the role,” said Medata President Tom Herndon. “His understanding of the P&C space along with his energy and winning attitude complement Medata’s abilities to meet our customers’ needs as we continue to introduce innovative products to the marketplace.”

Drexelius has nearly 20 years of business development experience in the workers’ compensation and healthcare industries. Most recently he served as Chief Sales Officer of Optum’s Workers’ Compensation and Auto No-Fault division, and he previously held similar roles with Helios, PMSI, and Coventry Healthcare.

Drexelius earned a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from Canisius College, a Master of Business Administration degree from Villanova University, and a Certified Healthcare Executive credential from the American College of Healthcare Executives. In addition, he serves on several boards including the Core Funders Board of the Workers’ Compensation Research Institute, the board for the Center for Creative Arts, a non-profit serving special-needs adults, and the board for the Seaver Autism Center for Research and Treatment at Mount Sinai in New York City.

“Medata is in an exciting and customer-centric environment and I’m looking forward to working with the leadership team and the industry we serve to help the company continue to develop innovative, value-based product offerings and accelerate its solid growth trends,” Drexelius said.
