"The roof, it was actually starting to collapse," Bean said. "(The fire) moved onto the wooden part of the structure as it progressed."
Bean called the mobile home a total loss, but the house can likely be repaired. No one was at home at the time of the fire.
Bean estimated it took about 30 minutes to bring the fire under control. No injuries were reported.
"I came back at 9," she said. "I didn't see anything up here at 9."
Hughes said she doesn't know what caused the fire. She explained her father-in-law heated with a wood stove.
"We don't know until they investigate," she said.
Hughes said her father-in-law was getting his treatment for cancer Friday morning. He's been battling cancer for about two years.

"In this time of day, everybody is at work," Bean said, referring to the multiple fire departments that responded. "It's hard to get many people. It takes six departments. Usually on a fire this size, you need at least a dozen (firefighters). If you can double that number, you are good."
