Aug. 10--Plenty of food and music will be available at Flood Stock Revisited at 6 to 9 p.m. tonight at the gazebo in downtown Fort Gibson.
A similar event was scheduled for June 20 at Thunderbird Speedway in Muskogee.
"It was so ungodly hot that day, and not many people were able to come out," said Jessica Fowler, director of the Fort Gibson Chamber of Commerce. "We may have 200 people during the day that came out. The food and the lineup were good, but it was just hot."
One of the bands wasn't ready to call it quits. The event proceeds were to help flood victims.
"Billy Arnett (of the Billy Arnett Band) called me said he wanted to something again," Fowler said.
Boone Mendenhall and Nathan Elkins will also perform, and the opening act will be Full House Band from Okay, Fowler said.
Like the event in June, tonight's proceeds will be used to raise money for the Muskogee County Disaster Recovery Committee, which is sponsored by Neighbors Building Neighborhoods.
"People can bring lawn chairs or blankets and sit down to eat food and listen to music," Fowler said. "All of the money is going to a good cause. It's supposed to be cooler, and there's always a breeze downtown."
In conjunction with Flood Stock Revisited, Trinity Family Worship, a church at 500 E. Poplar St., will have a Back to School Bash from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event features food, games, school supplies and haircuts at the old Harp's location.
