NORTH PROVIDENCE – The North Providence Mancini Center, 2 Atlantic Blvd., announces the following programs.

A Halloween costume party will be held Friday, Oct. 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will include a chicken pot pie lunch with hot apple crisp for dessert. There will also be music, dancing, and a costume contest with prizes for funniest, scariest, most creative, cutest and best overall. Tickets are available at our front desk while they last.

A Medicare Untangled presentation by Universal Healthcare, will be held Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 1 p.m. This seminar will explore Medicare options and bring transparency and simplicity to the changing health insurance market. A comparison of plan coverage options will be discussed. Registration is required.

Free memory screenings, provided by The Memory and Aging Program at Butler Hospital, will be available on Thursday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Appointments are required, call 401-231-0742.

A representative from United Healthcare will be onsite Thursday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. to answer questions and assist in choosing a plan that fits your needs and your budget. A review of plan options and changes to benefits for 2025 will be discussed. Register at the front desk or call 401-231-0742.

The Book Club will meet Thursday, Oct. 17, at 1 p.m. to discuss "Killing The Witches" by Bill O'Reilly, and receive the November read, "The River We Remember" by William Kent Krueger. Registration is required.

A Smartphone Workshop, provided by Verizon, is offered to members on Friday, Oct. 18. Android users will meet at 10 a.m., and iPhone users will meet at 1 p.m. Registration is required. Space is limited. Call 401-231-0742.

A fall floral arranging class will be held on Friday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m. Create a festive fall bouquet in this floral arrangement workshop sponsored by The Lighthouse at Lincoln. All materials are included. Tickets may be purchased at the front desk.

An afternoon matinée featuring the 2023 film "Dog Gone" will be held in the Mancini cinema on Monday, Oct. 21, at 12:30 p.m.

The program, Goodbye Salt, Hello Seasoning, will be held Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 10 a.m. Discover how to make seasoning blends without salt. A low sodium recipe will be demonstrated along with ideas for heart smart, low sodium and salt-free dishes. Registration is required.

Representatives from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of R.I. will be onsite Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 1 to 4 p.m., to answer questions and assist in choosing a plan that fits your needs and your budget. A review of plan options and changes to benefits for 2025 will be discussed.

Reiki sessions will be available to members on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 10 a.m. to noon. Appointments are required. Call the center at 401-231-0742.

Free blood pressure screenings will be available to members Thursday, Oct. 24, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. No appointments are necessary.
