ASHRM Recognizes Geri Amori with Presidential Citation

The American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) has named Geri Amori, PhD, ARM, CPHRM, DFASHRM, vice president of academic affairs for Med-IQ, a Coverys company, as the recipient of its 2017 Presidential Citation.

The Presidential Citation is presented semiannually at the discretion of ASHRM's president. This highly selective award recognizes outstanding and exceptional service to the specialty of healthcare risk management. The award was presented by the president of ASHRM's board of directors, Michael Midgley, during the ASHRM 2017 Annual Conference and Exhibition.

"Geri's extensive history of service to ASHRM and contributions to the profession of healthcare risk management qualifies her to receive this prestigious award," said Michael Midgley, president of ASHRM's board of directors.

Dr. Amori is a Distinguished Fellow of ASHRM, the 2004 recipient of the ASHRM Distinguished Service Award, three-time recipient of the ASHRM Journal Author Excellence Award, and a recipient of ASHRM's 2017 Emeritus Faculty Award. Dr. Amori is also a past president of the Northern New England Society for Healthcare Risk Management and is currently the vice president for academic affairs for Med-IQ, a Coverys company.

Some of her contributions to ASHRM include having served as:

• A member of the ASHRM faculty
• A contributing author of numerous ASHRM publications
