"America's insurers applaud the bipartisan leadership in the Senate for advancing infrastructure legislation, which includes historic investments in roadway safety and resiliency.
"Included in the many safety improvements are important steps toward scientific research to develop a marijuana impairment standard, a long-term commitment to improve safety at rail-highway crossings and establishing performance standards for automobile safety equipment. Additionally, the Senate bill incentivizes weather and climate resiliency across a broad spectrum of infrastructure projects.
"Insurers are committed to keeping families, individuals, and businesses safe by protecting lives and property. Senate passage of the infrastructure package means stronger and safer roads, buildings, workplaces, and communities. Together, we can move the economy forward and build a safer tomorrow."
America's insurers work with policymakers, industry leaders, consumers, and safety advocates to promote driver safety and enact transportation and highway safety laws to protect motorists and pedestrians. Learn more about APCIA's advocacy efforts at APCIA's Auto Safety headquarters.
