GALVESTON, Texas (AP) _ American National Insurance Co. (ANAT) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter profit of $344.6 million.
The Galveston, Texas-based company said it had profit of $12.78 per share. Earnings, adjusted for pretax gains and investment gains, were $3.03 per share.
The insurance company posted revenue of $924.4 million in the period.
For the year, the company reported profit of $493.7 million, or $18.31 per share. Revenue was reported as $3.41 billion.
American National Insurance shares have declined 7.5 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $118.66, a decrease of 2 percent in the last 12 months.
