American Family Insurance is already responding to help customers following Thursday afternooon's tornadoes in Central Iowa. The company has activated its catastrophe claims team for Polk, Marion and Marshall counties, including the communities of Marshalltown, Bondurant and Pella.
More than 30 American Family Insurance customers have filed tornado claims, with the number expected to climb, and adjusters are working with them to address immediate needs and set up appointments to inspect their damage. The catastrophe team is also sending one of its mobile claim offices to Marshalltown, to provide personal service on site. The office's location is still to be determined.
American Family Insurance customers who have claims from the tornadoes should immediately contact the company's 24-hour Customer Care Center, 1-800-MY-AMFAM (692-6326). They can also report claims to their local American Family agent, or online at www.amfam.com/claims.
