AM Best to Host Webinar on Rating Insurance-Linked Securities Affiliated Collateralized Reinsurers

OLDWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- AM Best analysts will examine how they rate collateralized reinsurers with insurance-linked securities (ILS) funds. Reinsurers of this type are relatively new, but are expected to become a larger share of the reinsurance sector as they seek greater operational efficiency, elimination of fronting fees and more flexibility in tailoring their offerings to cedants. For example, analysts review funding agreements between the ILS funds and the transformer; trust agreements between the rated entity and the transformer, collateral release provisions, agreements that outline 'clawback' provisions, the alignment of interests among various parties involved in the rated collateralized reinsurance company and other significant elements specific to collateralized reinsurers.
