These Credit Ratings (ratings) reflect Echelon’s balance sheet strength, which AM Best categorizes as strong, as well as its marginal operating performance, neutral business profile and appropriate enterprise risk management (ERM). The negative outlook on the Long-Term ICR reflects the projected downturn in risk-adjusted capitalization, which could weaken balance sheet strength given the impact of the company’s planned premium growth combined with the expiration of quota share reinsurance at year-end 2020. The outlooks reflect Echelon's balance sheet strength assessment level of strong, inclusive of the benefits derived from its parent,
