Alexander County issues Request for Proposals for insurance broker/agent

Alexander County, North Carolina ("County") is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for insurance brokers/agents regarding the county's property and liability insurance and workers' compensation insurance. This RFP invites established, qualified firms to submit proposals for handling the county's insurance transactions and providing related risk management services.
The county plans to select a single broker/agent at the conclusion of the RFP process. The selected firm will be asked to obtain quotes as outlined in Section 3 for the county's 2026-2027 fiscal year which begins July 1, 2026.
Submit proposals to Justin Mundy, county manager, at the Alexander County Administration Office, 621 Liledoun Road, Taylorsville, NC 28681 no later than 12 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, 2026. One (1) original and four (4) copies of the proposal must be submitted.
No responses to this RFP will be accepted after the specified date and time. Copies of the RFP may be obtained by contacting Sylvia Turnmire by email at [email protected]. Submission of a proposal does not create any right in, or expectation to, a contract with the county.
Questions or requests for additional information concerning this RFP must be submitted in writing. They may be emailed to [email protected] no later than 12 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026.
