AF Group Named #1 Large Employer in Business Insurance Magazine’s 2017 Best Places to Work

By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Insurance Business Weekly -- AF Group has been named the #1 large employer in Business Insurance magazine's list of Best Places to Work in Insurance for 2017. The #1 large employer designation recognizes AF Group and its workers' compensation brands (Accident Fund Insurance Company of America, United Heartland, CompWest Insurance and Third Coast Underwriters) for being the best large employer in terms of employee engagement and satisfaction.

"For eight consecutive years, our organization has been recognized by Business Insurance as one of the best places to work in insurance," said Lisa Corless, president of AF Group. "This year, we were also named the #1 insurer among large organizations and we are extremely proud of that honor. It reflects our amazing team and their efforts to sustain a fun and collaborative culture where we all provide the best possible service to agents, policyholders, injured workers and each other."

AF Group received high marks in overall employee satisfaction including corporate culture and communications, leadership and planning, pay and benefits, role satisfaction and training and development.

The prestigious Best Places to Work in Insurance program is a joint effort of Business Insurance and Best Companies Group. Its two-part assessment process recognizes companies that have created high-quality workplaces in which employees can thrive and enjoy doing so. One part, responsible for 75 percent of a company's score, involved a confidential employee engagement and satisfaction survey, which was used to evaluate employees' workplace experience and the company's culture. The second part consisted of an employer questionnaire, which collected information about each company's benefit programs, policies and practices.
