York County’s Wolf leads Pa. gubernatorial candidates in campaign funds

Jan. 31--York County businessman Tom Wolf appears to be leading the pack for campaign contributions among the eight Democrat gubernatorial candidates and incumbent Republican Tom Corbett.

Wolf's numerous contributions and a $10 million personal pledge gave him the edge over Corbett and the field of Democrats competing in the May 20 primary for a chance to run against Corbett in November.

Campaign finance reports were due Friday. As of 5 p.m., all were available except that of Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski, who analysts have not considered a top contender in the race.

Wolf is chairman and CEO of York-based family company The Wolf Organization, which deals in kitchen cabinets and specialty building products. He served as Secretary of Revenue under Democratic Gov. Ed Rendell.

He was the biggest contributor to his own campaign, with a $10 million personal contribution from the candidate and his wife, but he also received dozens of four-digit donations and one seven-digit contribution: Longtime Wolf friend Tim Grumbacher, former CEO of the Bon-Ton stores, contributed $1 million to the campaign.

Here's a look at the breakdown, in order of money raised:
