Workshare Names John Safa as Vice President, Engineering, to Help Drive Workshare Cloud Computing Initiative

Workshare, a leading provider of document collaboration software, announced today that it has appointed John Safa as Vice President, Engineering. Safa brings more than 20 years of IT executive and engineering experience to the role, including the development of 20 patented technologies. In his new position, Safa will oversee the research and development efforts for Workshare’s family of products, and be key to driving Workshare’s cloud computing and mobile strategy.

Immediately prior to joining Workshare, Safa was Development Director at SDL, PLC, a software solutions company offering multilingual translation software and translation services, where he managed a large team of software development engineers, QA and technical writers.

Previously, Safa was the founder of Bitarts, Inc., one of the first companies to offer DRM activation technology for both PC and mobile devices. He also co-founded DriveSentry, an anti-virus solution for desktop PCs and removable storage that utilized whitelisting and cloud-based detection techniques.
