Who is Michael David Jones?

June 27--When accountant Kathryn Parker, 43, met Michael David Jones in July last year at a networking mixer for young professionals in Vero Beach, he told her he was a lawyer, she said. Although Parker lives in Tallahassee now, she'd moved back to her hometown of Vero Beach last year for about nine months.

She and Jones talked for about a half-hour, Parker recalled Thursday, but the connection ended there. She said she didn't believe the stories he was telling her about himself.

"When I met him, I had instincts that something wasn't right," Parker said. "The things he was saying to me were just too good to be true -- too over the top ... He came off very pompous -- very full of himself."

Jones, 31, was charged with first-degree murder late Wednesday in connection with Duve's June 20 homicide. She was found Monday in the trunk of her car in a Melbourne parking lot.

Jones:

-- Worked doing legal services at PNC Wealth Management in Vero Beach. Officials there declined to comment.

-- Previously worked at a Fort Lauderdale Wells Fargo branch on Las Olas Boulevard.

-- Served as an advisory member for the Indian River Estate Planning Council, the Martin Estate Planning Council, the Indian River Community Foundation and the Visiting Nurses Association'sPlanned Giving Council.

-- With some councils, Jones listed himself as an attorney. Florida Bar officials confirmed he is not licensed to practice law in Florida. It's unclear if he is licensed in another state.

-- His birth certificate shows he was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, but on a 2012 arrest report, Broward County sheriff's deputies listed his birth place as Cincinnati, Ohio.
