Weekend thefts top $18,000, including two trailers

May 19--MOULTRIE -- Weekend thefts totaled more than $18,000, with a trailer and tools from a work site and a utility trailer taken in a separate incident among the property reported stolen.

The trailer and tools were reported stolen from a work site in the 1000 block of West Boulevard.

Kurt DeMott, 45, Moultrie, who reported the theft on Saturday, told police that the trailer and tools were valued at $10,000.

On Friday, Billy Jack's, 905 W. Central Ave., reported that a U-Haul utility trailer valued at $7,500 had been stolen.

In other thefts:

--James Hughes, Moultrie, reported Friday that a wallet he left at a store in the 1000 block of Fifth Street Southeast was gone when he returned looking for it.

--Tracie Dabney, 46, Moultrie, reported the theft of $50 she lost at a convenience store on First Avenue Northwest.

--Charles Hobgood, 1400 block Sunrise Avenue, reported Saturday that a television and blue ray DVD player with a total value of $129 were stolen in a burglary of his residence.

--Erica Martinez, Norman Park, reported Friday the theft of a gold necklace with charm valued at $100.

--Plymel's Store, 800 Hwy. 133 S., reported Wednesday that shoplifters recently have stolen merchandise valued at $20.

--Leilana Roberts, 23, Moultrie, reported the theft of a wallet and contents valued at $27.

Roberts told police that she left the wallet in a shopping cart and when she returned a short time later it was gone.

--Plymel's Store, 800 Hwy. 133 S., reported Friday that a customer who made a purchase put drinks and food she did not pay for in her bag. The stolen merchandise was valued at $20.

--Brandie Newsome, 21, Pavo, reported Sunday the theft of a wallet out of a 2001 Ford Taurus parked in the 800 block of Seventh Avenue Northwest. The wallet and contents were valued at $30.

--Jeni Akridge, 5700 block U.S. Highway 319 North, reported Friday the theft of a goat valued at $120.

--Brent Hyde, Tifton, reported Sunday the theft of three trail cameras, worth a total of $451, from a house in the 1200 block of Moultrie-Lenox Road.

--Maggie Brown, 1100 block South Main Street, reported Friday the theft of a Colquitt County High letterman jacket from Room 404 at the high school, 1800 Park Ave.

Arrests

--Vanna Neshina Moye, 26, 1330 Haven Hill Lot 28, was charged Saturday with driving without license and speeding.

--Jerry Lyn Bledsoe, 53, 412 E. Central Ave., was charged Friday with driving with suspended or revoked driver's license.

--Crystal Nichole Waldon, 30, 501 Second Ave., was charged Sunday with theft by shoplifting.

--Rashad Lee Sharp, 20, 468 Allen Road, was charged Saturday with driving without license.

--Joe Beal, 32, 229 Cherokee Drive, was charged Saturday with theft of services.

--Jamie Vickory, 23, 915 Second St. S.E., was charged Saturday with driving while license withdrawn and failure to stop at stop sign.

--Angel Jesus Mendez-Ortiz, 28, 4648 Old Adel Road, was charged Friday with defective equipment and driving without license.

--Jonathan Jermain Revill, 36, 538 Ninth St. S.W., was charged Sunday with theft of services.

--Terrance Tavaris Thomas, 30, 532 27th St. S.E. Apt. 4, was charged Friday with fleeing or attempting to elude police officer, window tint violation and driving while license withdrawn.

--Javarus Benard Willingham, 25, and Nakeiya Huckaby, 21, both of 2412 Jacqueline Circle, were each charged Sunday with simple battery.

--George Grier III, 45, 1162 Second St. S.E., was charged Sunday with no proof of insurance and suspended tag.

--Alex Guillermo Lamas-Ybarra, 19, 3623 Nicks Road, Pelham, was charged Friday with probation violation.

--Alan Keith Dell Jr., 32, 863 Smith Road, was charged Saturday with theft by deception and theft by conversion.

Dell is accused of stealing and selling to a pawn shop a Husqvarna riding lawn mower valued at $550 reported stolen by Kathy Moser, 100 block Moser Lane.

--Tammy Lynn Sanchez, 50, 2028 Sardis Church Road, was charged Saturday with driving under the influence, open container violation and failure to drive within single lane.

--Danielle Alyssa Garrison, 19, and Haley Nicole Arnold, 17, both of 3266 Old Adel Road, were each charged Saturday with possession of marijuana.

--Martin Martin Garcia, 950 Sardis Church Road, was charged Friday with driving under the influence, driving without license, open container in vehicle, failure to drive within single land and seat belt violation.

Battery

Moultrie Police

--Josh Bennett, 200 block Sixth Avenue Southeast, reported Friday that a female acquaintance slapped him in the face and sprayed pepper spray on him.

Bennett, who told police he showered before an officer arrived, had no visible injuries, police said.

--Paul Dawson, 18, Moultrie, reported Saturday that he was beaten by several people at the Moultrie youth center, 512 Sixth St. N.W.

Dawson told police that he was trying to get a friend out of the fight when he was hit several times.

He had an injury to his lip, scratches on his arm and swelling of the right eye, police said.

Sheriff's Office

--Joyce Burns, 200 block Brandi Drive, reported Friday that unauthorized transactions totaling $469 were made on a banking account.

Property damage

Moultrie Police

--Sandra Johnson, 45, Moultrie, reported Friday that a 2008 Chevrolet Impala was damaged at an unknown location.

--Jerry Dougherty, 1400 block Fourth Avenue Northeast, reported Saturday that someone fired a shot through his window.

Dougherty told police he did not know when the event took place.

Sheriff's Office

--Rose Marie Brown, 100 block Funston-Sale City Road, Funston, reported Sunday damage to two Honda Accords, one a 1993 model and the other a 2003.

The door lock was damaged in the 2003 model, and the gas cap was missing from the other and it would not start, Brown told police.

--Sheila Clements, 100 block Cherry Avenue, reported Saturday that a male acquaintance broke a window in her front door window.

Clements told police that the man was intoxicated and got angry because she did not answer her door.

--Maranda Jackson, 900 block Sam Rentz Road, reported that the front bumper of a 2013 Nissan Titan was damaged. Jackson discovered the damage when she got home and did not know where it occurred.
