Walk-in information service to end at Lyster, other Army facilities

Jan. 30--Fort Rucker personnel who have historically walked in to Lyster Army Health Clinic to ask questions about their TRICARE insurance benefits will have to find the information elsewhere after April 1.

The Department of Defense said recently it can save $50 million annually by ending administrative walk-in services at 189 facilities across the United States.

TRICARE service centers have been staffed by contractors for several years and have been available for people covered by the Army'sTRICARE insurance to answer questions and provide information. The Department of Defense said in a recent release that information that had been provided by the walk-in service is readily available online or by phone.

The change does not affect any benefits received by TRICARE customers.

Personnel who have been using the walk-in service at Lyster can access information through www.tricare.mil.

Personnel with specific questions about benefits after April 1 are being asked to call Humana Military at 1-800-444-5445 for enrollment and benefit help. All health care, pharmacy, dental and claims contact information is located at www.tricare.mil/contactus. Beneficiaries can make enrollment changes and more online at www.tricare.mil/enrollment.

TRICARE beneficiaries can also download health care forms at www.tricare.mil.
