USAA Life Insurance Introduces Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan N [Manufacturing Close – Up]

USAA Life Insurance Company now provides USAA members who qualify for Medicare with more options - expanding its Medicare Supplement Insurance to include a low-premium choice, Plan N.

"Our members are concerned about rising health care-related costs and the impact it could have to their financial security," said Greg Marion, vice president, USAA Health Solutions. "Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan N provides our members with lower monthly payment coverage and no network restrictions."

In a release, the company noted that Plan N is now available to USAA members in 30 states and Washington, D.C., and is expected to be available in most states by the end of the year. Medicare Supplement Insurance, also referred to as Medigap, can help pay some health care costs that Medicare doesn't cover, such as copayments, coinsurance and deductibles.

Medicare Supplement Plan N is sold through private insurance companies, such as USAA Life, and is popular among consumers because the cost-sharing system keeps premiums low. Plan N also offers some coverage for skilled nursing care and foreign travel emergencies.

"Plan N is just one example of the new capabilities and products we plan to introduce this year to meet our members' growing health care and financial needs," Marion said.

This new product joins the portfolio of Medicare-related products available to members, including Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans A and F, Medicare Advantage (Part C) and Medicare Prescription Drug Plan (Part D).* USAA Life has offered Medicare Supplement Insurance for more than 25 years.

USAA's Medicare Supplement Plan N is available in the following states: Ala., Ariz., Ark., Calif., Del., Ga., Idaho, Ill., Ind., Iowa, Ky., La., Mich., Miss., Mo., Mont., N.C., N.D., Ohio, Okla., Ore., Pa., R.I., S.D., Texas, Utah, Vt., Wash., W.Va., Wyo. and Washington, D.C.
