Texas Boaters Benefit from Enhanced Online Boating Safety Course and Boat License Exam

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) June 24, 2011

More than 50 Texas State Parks are hosting “Free Fishing in State Parks,” a year-long program to encourage more people to get out and enjoy the great sport of fishing. Texas Parks & Wildlife has waived the normal fishing license and stamp requirements for anyone fishing inside the property boundary of a Texas state park.

This includes fishing from a boat, so there’s no better time to make Texas boating safe and enjoyable. Become an educated, responsible boater by completing the Boat Texas safe boating course before catching all those free fish.

At Boat-Ed.com (http://www.Boat-Ed.com/Texas), boaters learn the official boat education content developed for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD). This safe boating course lets students get their Texas boating license (or jet ski license) online to comply with Texas law. The new-and-improved Boat Texas course now offers the highest-quality online experience—less text, plenty of interactive reviews and practice, and on-the-water videos.

Students move quickly through short segments designed for bite-sized reading and quick comprehension. Learning is reinforced with interactive animations, and students feel like they’re on the water as they study casting off and docking, rescue techniques, the "Circle of Death" and other boaters safety course topics.

Best of all, Boat Ed has added more than an hour of streaming video with 45 exciting on-the-water action sequences. Produced over a 10-month period at a cost of $250,000, Boat Ed’s video was shot with state-of-art equipment (jib arm cameras, specialized camera boats, gyro stabilizers) and professional talent (40 actors/extras, 10 camera crew members, and professional boat and PWC operators). Getting an online boaters license has never been so fun!

Students study the fast-paced boating safety course (http://www.Boat-Ed.com/Texas) online when it fits their schedule—setting up a free account and logging in or out as they wish. The Texas online boating safety course fee includes the boat course, unit quizzes, unlimited practice exam attempts, and one final exam attempt at the online boating license test.

After passing the Texas boating exam, students print a temporary Texas boat education card to serve as their operating permit. The permanent TPWD boating safety education certificate is mailed in five to seven business days.

Some prefer to learn about boating safety as a family, so Boat Ed also offers the official Boat Texas video home-study course (http://www.boat-ed.com/texas/video.html). The Boat Texas DVD includes more than an hour of exciting on-the-water action sequences. The video also includes interviews with TPWD officers, who explain state laws in detail and share their experiences patrolling the waters of Texas.

The boat education video fee includes an instructional video, student manual, and a mail-in Texas certification test to receive the boating safety course certificate. For information on ordering a Boat Texas boater education video course, go to http://www.boat-ed.com/Texas/video.

As an added bonus, students who send a copy of their boaters safety course certificate (or boating licence, as it’s sometimes called) to their insurance agency might be eligible for a discount on boat or personal watercraft (PWC) insurance.

The recognized leader in boating safety, Boat Ed is the official and exclusive provider of print, video or online boating safety courses for 49 states, plus the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. For more information about boater's licence or safety certification requirements, please visit Boat-Ed.com (http://www.Boat-Ed.com/).
