TIAA-CREF Portfolio Advisor Named Product of the Year
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- TIAA-CREF Portfolio Advisor was named Managed Solution Product of the Year by the Money Management Institute (MMI). The award recognizes the firm that launched the most innovative product that contributed to the growth of the Managed Solutions industry in the past year.
“This award recognizes the value of this highly personal, flexible and scalable advisory program,” said Eric Jones, Senior Vice President, Individual Products, TIAA-CREF. “With Portfolio Advisor, we are offering clients customized, goal-oriented portfolio management across a broad range of asset classes and product types to address the needs of their entire investment portfolio.”
TIAA-CREF Portfolio Advisor was introduced in July 2009 and offers a high level of client customization and service by incorporating each client’s unique investment preferences. Going beyond typical risk tolerance and time horizon modeling, Portfolio Advisor’s Preference Framework allows clients to indicate personal investment preferences which are then incorporated in their portfolio. This tool provides clients an opportunity to weigh-in on topics such as downside risk management, active versus passive portfolio management and socially-responsible investing, among other factors.
In addition, Portfolio Advisor allows clients to integrate existing holdings in their managed portfolio, rather than requiring that all existing assets be sold and proceeds invested into a single model portfolio. This streamlines portfolio management and provides clients a clear picture of their investments.
Portfolio Advisor leverages Citi’s OpenWealthSM, the first Unified Managed Household platform for sponsors and other distributors of managed accounts.
TIAA-CREF is America's largest private retirement system and manages retirement savings on behalf of 3.7 million Americans in the academic, research, medical and cultural fields.
The award was presented at the MMI’s Gateway to Leadership Fundraiser dinner on May 19, 2010.
