State Farm SVP McFadden Elected to LISC Board

Targeted News Service

NEW YORK, June 12 -- The Local Initiatives Support Corp. issued the following news release:

One of the country's top insurance executives has joined the board of directors of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), a national nonprofit working to revitalize hundreds of distressed communities across the country.

Tim McFadden, senior vice president for State Farm and president of State Farm Indemnity, will help guide LISC as it focusing funding and program support on such critical needs as economic development, affordable housing, health care, education, community safety and jobs. LISC's 25-member board is chaired by former Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin and includes leading executives from foundations, corporations, community-based nonprofits and government.

McFadden brings a wealth of sales, management and board experience to his work with LISC. He currently oversees the Eastern region for State Farm, having worked his way up from his start as a State Farm agent in Miami back in 1992, through management positions in the South and Mid-Atlantic region, to his current role overseeing the Bloomington, Ill.-based company's work throughout the East.

"I've been lucky enough to spend my career working with and for families in some of the very communities where LISC works, " said McFadden. "There are people who struggle every day just to make ends meet--to find a good job, to afford a decent apartment, to make sure their kids can eat healthy food and go to a good school, to feel safe on their own street or in their neighborhood park. We want to give them the opportunity to tackle those challenges so they and their communities can thrive."

McFadden's addition to the board reflects not only his own expertise and deep personal commitment but that of State Farm as well, said Michael Rubinger, LISC president and CEO. "For many years, State Farm has provided critical support to help transform troubled communities into good places to live. With Tim on the board, we have another strong voice advocating for projects and programs that have a lasting impact."

McFadden is a graduate of West Point and served for four years as an active duty Army officer before joining State Farm. He has a J.D. from Stetson College of Law in Gulfport, Fla., and he has served on the boards of the North Carolina & Virginia Easter Seals United Cerebral Palsy and Top Layer Reinsurance Company.
