Shaheen & Gordon, P.A. is proud to announce that seven of its attorneys were named to the list of The Best Lawyers in America© 2015 (Copyright 2013 by Woodward/White, Inc., of Aiken, SC). In the Firm's New Hampshire Office, Steven M. Gordon, James D. Rosenberg, Lucy J. Karl, D. Michael Noonan, and Edward W. Stewart were named to the list. In the Firm's Maine offices, Randall E. Smith and Peter W. Schroeter were selected by their peers for this honor.

Steven M. Gordon has been listed in Best Lawyers® since 1989. His practice areas include criminal defense, First Amendment litigation, business litigation, internal investigations and health care. Mr. Gordon has also been selected for the honor of Best Lawyers® "Lawyer of the Year" (2013) for his work in the field of white collar criminal defense, and from 2007-2013, he was included in the list of Super Lawyers®.

James D. Rosenberg was selected to the list of Best Lawyers® for the first time this year in the practice areas of criminal defense and white collar criminal defense. Since 2008, he has been named to the Super Lawyers® list of Rising Stars? in the area of criminal defense. In 2005, he was named by the New Hampshire Union Leader to its "40 Under 40" list of up and coming political and business leaders in the State. He was named by Governor Hassan as the Co-Chair of the Judicial Selection Commission in 2013.

Lucy J. Karl was first selected to the list of Best Lawyers® in 2013 in the area of Health Care Law. She has also been chosen for the honor of Super Lawyers® (2010-2013). Ms. Karl practices in the areas of complex business litigation, securities fraud and healthcare, advising healthcare clients on compliance with federal and state regulations, and billing and coding practices. She represents hospitals, medical staffs and physicians in internal investigations, disputes regarding privileges, recruiting, and employment contract issues.

This is D. Michael Noonan's sixth year being selected to the list of Best Lawyers®. In addition to this honor, Mr. Noonan has also been included in the list of Super Lawyers® since 2010 and is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He handles all types of personal injury cases including motor vehicle, premises liability, construction site injury, products liability, pharmaceutical, medical device, brain injury, burns, spine injury, and others.

Edward W. Stewart has had the honor of being named to the list of Best Lawyers® for 20 years. His primary areas of practice include workers' compensation law, personal injury, social security disability, and related fields. Mr. Stewart served as President of the New Hampshire Trial Lawyers Association (1987) and was elected as a Fellow in the College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers (2008).

Randall E. Smith practices at Shaheen & Gordon's Maine offices and was selected to the list of Best Lawyers® in the areas of personal injury litigation (plaintiffs) and medical malpractice law (plaintiffs). He was selected as the 2014 Lawyer of the Year for Portland in both categories. Mr. Smith has been included in the list of New England Super Lawyers® and selected for fellowship in the American Board of Trial Lawyers and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He is the current President of the Maine Trial Lawyers. Mr. Smith is well known for his work in the fields of products liability, medical negligence, and personal injury.

Peter W. Schroeter also practices at the firm's Maine offices and was selected to the Best Lawyers® list in the practice area of workers' compensation law (claimants).
