Segal Institute for Clinical Research Announces Appointment of Dr. Leslie Penny Moldauer as Corporate Chief Medical Officer

MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Segal Institute for Clinical Research, a consortium of specialized clinical research sites, welcomes Dr. Leslie Penny Moldauer as Corporate Chief Medical Officer and Principal Investigator.

Dr. Moldauer received her medical degree from SUNY, Downstate Medical School and completed her psychiatric residency at Fort Logan Mental Health Center. She also received an MBA degree from Colorado State University. Dr. Moldauer is a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a Distinguished Fellow of the Colorado Psychiatric Society.

Dr. Moldauer had a private psychiatric practice for over 25 years in which she treated adult, geriatric, and adolescent in-patients and out-patients. She was a consultant for the Colorado Department of Vocational Rehabilitation as well as a number of insurance and managed mental healthcare companies. Dr. Moldauer was president of the medical staff of Mount Airy Psychiatric Hospital and has been an active member of the Colorado Psychiatric Society, being editor of their newsletter and serving as secretary of the Board of Directors. She has also served on the board of Mental Health America, a mental health advocacy group.

Dr. Moldauer’s research career began in 2002 when she became Site Director and Medical Director for the Denver site of Summit Research Network and Radiant Research. She was Principal Investigator for over 140 phase II-IV research studies in affective disorders, sleep disorders, memory disorders, obesity, schizophrenia, ADHD, addictive disorders and movement disorders. She also served as Radiant Research’s Corporate Medical Director.

Following her position at Radiant Research, Dr. Moldauer served as a Medical Monitor and Medical Director for INC Research, a full-service CRO specializing in neuroscience. In this position she provided medical oversight and safety monitoring for research studies in phases I-IV both within the US and internationally.

Dr. Moldauer will be the Corporate Chief Medical Officer and Principal Investigator at Segal Institute. She will also be an integral asset to the relaunch of the Segal Institute research sites in Denver, Colorado where she will ultimately serve as Principal Investigator.

Segal Institute for Clinical Research is a consortium of research sites specializing in psychiatric, neurological, addiction, medical and women's health clinical trials. A 60-plus staff of full-time Principal Investigators, Subinvestigators, coordinators, research assistants and Master's- and Doctorate-level raters conducts clinical trials in outpatient, inpatient, nursing homes, and sleep laboratories.
